Typical Serbian food

A typical Serbian food includes food such as "cevapi", "prsuta", "sarma" and lots of other foods. These names cannot be translated because there is no name in English for these types of food. These pictures are the best example of typical Serbian food.

Serbian vs American sweets

Like everything else, the Serbian and American sweets are different. The pictures on the left side are Serbian sweets and the pictures on the right side are American sweets. These pictures represent the same type of sweets in both countries.

Serbain store in Chicago

The first picture represents the Serbian store in Chicago. Even if people are so far from their own home they still can find their food in other parts of the world, which is amazing. The other pictures represent what people can find inside. I was in Chicago for Thanksgiving and I visited this store. I was so happy because finally I was able to eat food from my culture.

Serbian food

Serbian Food

The link ("Serbian Food") above these pictures represents the typical Serbian food as well as these pictures so that people can see how Serbian food looks like. Meat, bread, vegetables everything is natural and people are able to see that from these pictures.

Hamburger vs "Cevapi"

Recipe for Serbian pancakes

  • 300 grams of flour
  • 300 ml of milk
  • 300 ml of water
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of oil
  • 2-3 eggs

Mix all the ingredients into a bowl. Use a kitchen spoon for a measure when putting into a frying pan.

Serbian pie vs American pie

Serbian pie is one of the traditional Serbian foods. Serbian pie doesn't even look like American pie and the taste is completely different. Serbian pie is crispy while American is more like a cake. The pie in this picture was made by my best friend and it is one of the best pies I had ever tasted. I look forward to trying this pie again.
